I am currently undertaking a multifaceted program of research that will shed new light on the interactions of scientific authority with racialization dynamics by exploring the mobilization of science for antiracist purposes. The first fruit of this research will be a book entitled Race and Science in the Environmental Justice Movement that examines how the emergence of the environmental justice framework in the late twentieth century reflected the interplay of movement activism with scholarship (both empirical and theoretical), political argumentation, and policy formation.
